Malibu Bay opened in late 2020 to widespread appreciation, and a little envy on the part of those outside the gated community. “There has been a lot of excited chatter about the beach,” said Niall McLoughlin, Senior Vice President of Damac Properties, developer of the site, who added, that it really feels like Malibu, “with the serene green landscape… the wave pool and the graffiti artwork and surfboards integrated into the design”.

The waves themselves are generated by a giant tethered ball, imported from Belgium, which plunges up and down within an enclosure at the centre of the vast turquoise “ocean”.

Food trucks in the form of iconic 1960s Kombi vans cater to Little Surfer Girls and boys who’ve worked up an appetite bobbing on the artificial tide or running through the splash park’s waterworks.

“Malibu Bay is a lot of fun. It’s great to see PolySoft applied seamlessly in this luxurious setting” says PolySoft Managing Director, Ophelia Zhu. She adds “More and more urban dwellers want access to entertaining, but safe environments where they can feel at ease playing with their kids. Malibu Bay sets a high standard for future developments.”
